About
IRC fanatics among you would probably have heard of eggdrop, a bot framework for IRC. Logs on to IRC and is scriptable via plugins and all.
Well, Blobsy was created to do those things for MSN Messenger. It will soon feature a browser based administration interface which will allow easy configuration, starting, stopping and statistics. Since a bot is supposed to have commands that users can give, it also has a command interface. The commands can be added easily via [Handlers] which can be simply placed in a directory. The bot automatically loads the commands from these files.
The bot works fine on both Linux and Windows, and appears to function well on Mac OS X. It is programmed completely in PHP and works smooth for 4.3.0 and above, including PHP5. Blobsy is MSNP9 compliant and newer builds also incorporate MSNP11 support. The bot is pretty stable and the basic framework runs smooth without downtime given that Messenger servers do not boot it out.
The bot was written by Jaa for his own entertainment purposes but was released as a open source project in July 2003. The bot has a circle of developers contributing to key features of bot.
Now download Blobsy and get your own Messenger bot running. Enjoy! :)
